The ability to organize the initial medical response to a mass casualty incident is a core competence in emergency medicine.  The EMCC teaches a generic approach using the mnemonic MNOP.

Course leaders can choose between two types of scenarios and corresponding introductory lectures:

  • A scenario which focusses on communication and patient flow in the setting of a mass casualty incident

  • Scenarios which focus on organizing the initial response to a mass casualty incident
